How our houses got their names.

From these lists a short list of 6 families was created and the children were then asked to vote for the 4 families to be honoured by the renaming of Houses based on the contributions the families had made under the headings above. The winning families were Rae, Robinson, Kerr and Troup. The colours were then randomly allocated by lucky dip to the names.

The House system is used not only as a way to reward students through House Points across the school, which is later calculated and an overall winner is announced weekly at Assembly, but also to develop a positive culture through the Houses via the House Cross Country, Athletics and other lunch time events run by the House and Vice Captains. Students at our school have recently developed new House Chants for each House and enjoy performing the chant along with the dance moves when appropriate.
